Mr. Lucien Boillot has been technically retired for well over 10 years, but he can't manage to stay at home. His sons who took over the winery, Pierre and Louis, handle all daily operations, but Lucien still cares for his favorite field throughout the year, the Cherbaudes. This fantastic 1er Cru is located next to Chapelle Chambertin and across the road from Mazi Chambertin, two of the 9 superb Grand Crus of Gevrey Chambertin. Click for larger image This 1999 has a very deep and rich color. The nose smells of concentrated black cherries then the taste follows through with even more, fully ripe black cherries. Soft tanins and great length. What a pleasant wine !  |
