Francois Legros was born and raised in Morey-Saint-Denis and his wife is from Saint Aubin (next to Puligny-Montrachet). This allowed the husband and wife team, through family, friends and business contacts, to accumulate an impressively large range of wines from the northern Côte de Nuits to the southern Côte de Beaune.  This 1er cru called the Noirots is in an excellent neighborhood of Chambolle - just below the Bonnes Mares, one of Burgundy's finest grand crus, and our next selection. . .   This lime tree was planted in Chambolle at the end of the 16th century. The trunks circumference is several meters and, although the tree does not look very healthy, it continues to bear fruit. |
