Pommard 1er Cru Les Fremiers 1998
Domaine Lucien Boillot

This wine is from one of the Burgundy family dynasties. The Boillot family has been in the wine-making business for 7 generations - with the majority of that activity in the Côte de Beaune village of Volnay. This wine is from the neighboring village of Pommard.

The wine shows us a rich color, a deep violet-red. The black cherry aromas are due to a very ripe harvest, but the nose is not overly open or generous due to the young age of the wine. The attack, or first impression when you taste it is crisp and frank. The wine has a great length and structure. Don't hesitate to decant this if you drink it sooner rather than later. If you can age it, do so. It will hold on well in good cellar conditions for 7 to 10 years.

Louis and Pierre Boillot along with their father, Lucien, have given us a wine that has a strong aging potential and silky characteristics thanks to their wine-making skills and respect for the vintage and the terroir of Pommard.
