Domaine Thomas Moillard is the proud owner of more than 3/5 of this plot, the 1er Cru Malconsorts in Vosne-Romanée, and what an extraordinary plot it is ! First of all, it is located in Vosne-Romanée, clearly one the best villages in Burgundy. Secondly, this plot is just next to La Tâche, making it the princess next to the pricier Queen of the land. And finally the wine-making of the Domaine. Clive Coats: "I have been visiting and tasting (the wines of TM) for fifteen years or more" what I have seen leads me to expect quality and consistency. And, as elsewhere in Burgundy, an increased level of success in the vintages over the last dozen years or so. Click for larger image This wine has a deep ruby red color. The nose is very fruity with aromas of black cherries and very good concentration with some slightly smoked aromas. The attack is soft and pleasant - the tanins are not agressive. There is a great balance between the wood and fruit. A true bargain. |
